Delivr.ai vs. Acxiom: Owned Data vs. Licensed Data
Acxiom’s 260M-person graph is now Omnicom-owned. Delivr.ai delivers real-time deterministic resolution with full data ownership and zero agency conflicts.
By Delivr.ai
Acxiom is one of the oldest and deepest consumer data repositories in the world. Founded in 1969, its Real ID product covers 260 million US individuals and 2.6 billion people globally, with 10,000+ unique data attributes per identity. Originally acquired by IPG for $2.3B in 2018, Acxiom is now part of Omnicom Group following the IPG-Omnicom merger completed in November 2025. Delivr.ai provides a structurally independent alternative with PII-first resolution.
What Acxiom Does Well
Acxiom’s InfoBase is the crown jewel — 900M+ email addresses and 220M+ phone numbers anchored in decades of offline data. The depth of attributes per person (10,000+) is unmatched. Real ID Cloud (launched October 2023) enables brands to run identity resolution within their own Snowflake environment without PII movement.
Acxiom won the 2024 MarTech Breakthrough Award for its Snowflake integration and was named a Snowflake Leader in Identity & Onboarding. For enterprises already on Snowflake, this warehouse-native approach eliminates data copying.
The Omnicom Ownership Question
Acxiom is now part of the world’s largest advertising holding company. The same structural concern that applies to Epsilon/Publicis applies here: Acxiom’s identity data powers Omnicom’s competitive advantage in media and data.
For brands and agencies competing with Omnicom clients, using Acxiom means contributing to a data asset that may work against you. Independent agencies face the sharpest version of this conflict — building campaigns on a graph owned by their largest competitor.
Delivr.ai is not owned by any holding company, media company, or agency group. Identity data resolved through Delivr.ai belongs to the customer, with no conflicts of interest in how that data is used or who benefits from it.
Resolution Approach
Acxiom uses a hybrid matching approach — primarily deterministic with probabilistic extensions for digital identity. The Real ID system excels at offline-to-online matching, leveraging decades of postal, phone, and address data.
Delivr.ai is 100% deterministic with no probabilistic component. While Acxiom’s depth of offline attributes (10,000+) exceeds what Delivr.ai delivers per record, Delivr.ai’s resolution rate for anonymous web traffic (50%+) outperforms hybrid approaches that rely on probabilistic methods for digital signals.
Real-Time vs. Batch
Acxiom’s Real ID Cloud is optimized for batch and near-real-time processing within Snowflake. This is excellent for CRM enrichment and audience building, but the warehouse-native model introduces latency for real-time web visitor identification.
Delivr.ai resolves in real-time. When an anonymous visitor lands on your site, resolution happens immediately — not in the next batch processing window. For use cases where speed-to-lead matters (sales engagement, personalization, triggered campaigns), this real-time capability is critical.
Data Ownership
Acxiom licenses its data. Brands access Acxiom’s identity graph through subscription agreements with usage restrictions — you don’t own the resolved identity data, you rent access to it.
Delivr.ai owns its identity graph data and acquires data with full usage rights for customers. When you resolve an identity through Delivr.ai, that record becomes yours. No usage restrictions, no licensing dependencies, no risk that a change in Acxiom’s (or Omnicom’s) business priorities affects your access.
